Happiness Is… {family}

My kids don’t travel well, and so my visits to my family in Massachusetts are often abbreviated, stressful, and sleep-deprived.  Jax is resisting the pack n play and knows that Grammy is an even bigger sucker than Mommy, so he gets his way more often than usual.  Em just straight up hates sleeping anywhere that isn’t her own bed, so naps usually happen in the car or not at all, and the going-to-sleep process can be more exhausting for us than for her.  Half the time I just fall asleep with her on my mom’s bed and wake up hours later to try, usually unsuccessfully, to transfer back to the pack n play.  More often than not she ends up sleeping in my mom’s bed with us.  Not exactly restful.

But just because we leave a weekend away a little more tired than we were before doesn’t mean that it isn’t worth it for all the memories and happy moments shared with my family.  The kids only get to see them once a month or so, and nothing makes me happier than to see little Em, who is so young, feel completely comfortable around my parents and sisters, no matter how much time elapses in between visits.  Because happiness is all about family; without it, what have you got?

Here’s to summer fun!

* * * * * * * *

So, how are you spending your summer?  Enjoying the sunshine and making memories?  Can’t wait to read all about it, so please join up at my blog hop!  It’s a new one for the month of July–fresh and clean and ready for your posts!  Come join us!

This is how we do it:

#1: Link up a blog post about your life recently that made you happy.  It could be a photo, a story, a recipe, a craft, etc.  No reviews or giveaways.  They will be deleted.  The post did not have to be written for this hop.  Just link up to us so we can enjoy it.

#2: Add my ”Happiness Is…” button somewhere to your post or site.  The html code is found in my sidebar.  Pretty pretty please do this.  I’d even settle for a text link.  People have been skipping out on this, and I really don’t want to have to start regulating.  How else are people going to learn about this brand new blog hop if you don’t spread the good word?

#3: You don’t have to follow me (because I’m not really into that whole “follow me back” thing), but if you enjoy this site and/or this hop, I’d really appreciate it if you did!  Happiness Is new friends!

Please don’t link and run.  Try to at least comment on the posts around you; it makes the whole hopping experience so much more enjoyable.

I’m fired up, are you?  Let’s see what you’ve got!

  1. Your photos really do look happy. We have two big family meet ups each year when *everyone* is there – so good for all the young cousins to play together.
