Painting With Racecars

If this looks familiar, it’s because I’ve done it before, except last time it was only with Jax.  This time Em proved she is mature enough to handle a potentially super-messy craft, but with the right kids and the right day, I think this super fun take on painting can be done by most kids!  Don’t knock it ’till you try it!  Painting with race cars, and a car wash finale!

It’s easy: give each color some space and its own muscle car, then let the kids ride off to the sunset with their new painting vehicle.

They will be super engaged and creative!  Not to mention quiet and happy.  Everyone wins!

And the artwork is so interesting to admire!  Jax was definitely more fast and furious and Em’s art was somewhat more of a leisurely drive.  Either way, they made it to their destination and were very proud!

And then happy to clean up!  Don’t forget the car wash! It’s half the fun!  Oh, and don’t you love their washing aprons?  I MADE them (that’s right!) out of old towels at their school.  Pockets and all.  Yes, be impressed–I will not lie and pretend I’m not super proud of them!  Let me know if you’d like a tutorial on how to make them.  I’d be happy to oblige.

The car wash took an additional half hour–this was such a fun way to spend an afternoon.  A perfect way to spend a snowy day–turn off the TV and get racing!
