Savoring all my favorite things about each of my two big kids, including cuddling with Miss Em, the world’s absolute best snuggler ever.
I spoiled her with a nap together in my bed, and although she is so sweet, scooting her butt back to be the little spoon and wrapping my arm around her belly, she was snoring like a bear. Definitely no nap for me, but once she was good and unconscious, I ran downstairs to get my camera to get a few shots of my little girl.
Only a few more days as our baby girl! Then she’ll be helping me put our new baby girl down for a nap herself, in her new role as big sister. I’m grateful she still takes afternoon naps about fifty percent of the time–it gives me a chance to just watch her and soak in everything about her. Sucking in her soul, as my mom says. I always laughed when she said that before I had kids, but now I think that’s exactly what I’m doing–trying to take in as much of who she is, her innocence and perfection, that I can while I am present enough in the moment to do so. Oh, and give me a couple weeks of newborn mama sleep, and snoring or no, I’m sure I will be squeezing in a nap with her with no problem!
