Someone is oh so in love with her big sister.
To be fair, Baby H loves both her siblings, but Em absolutely relishes the role of big sister and I think Baby H knows it. Em will literally drop anything if I ask her to help me with the baby–from getting me a diaper, helping pick out her clothes, entertaining her while I take a shower or put away laundry…the list of her rockstar big sister qualities goes on and on.
Any backlash about no longer being the baby in the house has never been directed toward the baby; if there has been any change in Em at all, it’s that she is a bit more shy, but that may be the result of so many changes going on in her life. Jax is in a different school and she has to fend for herself in social settings, which is a first. I’m not there to hold her hand for everything, and although she easily could have blamed that on the arrival of the baby, Em seems to understand that her baby sister is a new best friend and not a rival for our affection.
And Baby H worships her for it.
So proud of you, Em! You are an amazing big (and little) sister! H is lucky to have you as a best friend, and I’m so lucky and grateful to have you as my girl.
